Frankton, IN
The Frankton, Indiana Volunteer Fire Department purchased a PT2 2000 Gallon Tanker from Jeff Bowen and Midwest Fire. We took delivery in September of 2011, which was 3 months earlier than originally anticipated, a welcome surprise. This truck has served us well and has drawn a lot of attention from other local departments. A few minor issues, as expected with a new truck, in the beginning but Jeff and the shop went above and beyond taking care of those issues very quickly, even making a few phone calls to speed up Federal Signal on our "Q" Siren issue. We have purchased trucks before from companies that are far away from our location and it has been a nightmare. This was a concern at first with Midwest but since we have received our truck and with the service we received from day one at FDIC we have put all those concerns to rest, I can comfortably recommend this company to anybody looking for a tanker and we have done so. You will not pay the highest amount for a tanker with this company but you will receive quality that will compete if not run over the large "name" manufacturers. Great service. Feel free to contact us for a reference and check out our apparatus if you are in the area shopping for a tanker. Thanks Jeff and Midwest Fire for building a top of the line affordable tanker.

The Foley Fire Department purchased a PTX 3000 Gallon Pumper-Tanker last year from Midwest Fire. Rick Peterson was our Salesperson and was very enjoyable to work with. We have already used the truck on numerous calls and everything has worked out as could be hoped for without any issues. We did have a couple minor issues shortly after delivery, as is expected with any new truck, and Rick and Brett in Service handled them immediately as we requested. Their facility was very impressive to tour through. Our Members have been extremely happy with the truck and we feel that we got a very good quality, well built truck for the price that was paid for it. We would definite work with Midwest Fire again and would also recommend them to any Department that is looking for a new, quality Tanker at an affordable price.
Thanks again.

The New Prague Fire Dept. recently took delivery of a PTX 3500 gal tanker. The shop employees workmanship is outstanding, and the overall quality and craftsmanship is what we were expecting. Once we got past a stumbling block with receiving the chasis from Freightliner, the actual manufactering of the apparatus was done in rather short time. Thanks to Kim Bray & Brett Jensen for helping see us through the process. We look forward to working with Midwest Fire again in the future,

The Hanlontown Fire Department took delivery of our new tanker in October of 2011. We are very pleased with the quality of the truck and Brett was wonderful to work with. This is our third new truck in five years. The bid process and the manufacturing of the apparatus could not of been any easier then it was with Midwest Fire!
Every one that looks at it remarks on the high quality!
Thanks again!

Jeff was extremely helpful from the first phone call to the day we picked the truck up. He drove over 5 hours just so the department could look at the truck. This is the first dealing that we have had with Midwest Fire and I would recommend them to anyone. I even had people come up to me on the drive home to comment on how nice the truck was and ask where they could buy one like it.

initially we had contracted with an apparatus manufacturer for a new tender. That outfit went bankrupt with our International chassis in an impound lot. Once we got the chassis released, we looked around for a more reputable manufacturer to complete the tender. With help from Rick Peterson of MidWest Fire we were able to re-negotiate for the unit we wanted. Rick spent a fair amount of time working with us to turn a catastrophy into a successful tender delivery just a few months later than the original date. The tender was in use throughout our fire season this last summer, and performed exactly like we wanted.

This is the second truck we ordered from Midwest. Since we were so pleased with our first truck, a tanker, there was no doubt that we would return to Midwest to order our new PT4 3000 gallon pumper/tanker. It has been a pleasure working with Brett as our salesman. The quality of the product shows that the entire team takes great pride in their work. We look forward to working with Midwest in the future.

Never having purchased a truck prior honestly I was apprehensive about the whole process. However, I had a good grasp on what we needed which helps right up until you became more aware of the cost of those features and then the bids start coming in. One bid gave our community not only the chance for the truck we needed, but for more of a truck than we ever imagined. Upon speaking with Kraig, interacting with him, and seeing how much of a truck they were going to give us it was impossible not to choose Midwest. The only variable left was what we were going to actually receive from our choice. During the whole process Midwest's Kraig Scholten was not only outstanding but extremely helpful and the service and product provided by the entire team were absolutely exceptional, they far exceeded even a lot of Fortune 500 corporations. They are hard working, family oriented, and customer focused. The truck is exceptional. I have heard horror stories from other departments at other manufacturers, but the outstanding quality of our truck is obvious to anyone who sees it. Words do it no justice, attention to detail is amazing. Suggestions Kraig made with ideas I had created a synergy that I think may have created one of the best performing and most versatile pieces of fire apparatus ever made. Their again, I am sure all of Kraig and Midwest's customers probably think that. My story does not end there though. It is inevitable that a newly constructed machine so large will have some bugs to work out, the most shocking thing to me was how few there were (again listening to other departments dealing with other companies, my expectations). I also was somewhat apprehensive about after sale service being so far away from where the truck was built, but 90% of us are in that situation. This leads me to the final part of why should buy your truck at Midwest, the entire team took care of our little glitches as efficiently as if I had driven the truck back into their shop. The quality of the service after the sale shows me that not only are they concerned about selling us a fire truck, but also about keeping a relationship with us as concerned friends, supporting us in our life saving mission. I am not only thankful for the truck, the service, or the commitment afterward, but also the friendship. Please thank your whole staff Midwest! If you are going through the purchasing process now (like I was), you have my unqualified, heartfelt, and highest recommendation that Midwest has the apparatus you need to purchase, at a price that can't be beat, and service that is unmatched.
Our truck is in the recently delivered section if you want to see pictures. It is a PT2 Series 2000 gallon pumper tanker.

The Rock Springs Fire Department was blown away by the service that was provided by Brett of Midwest Fire. Our PT4 3000 Gallon tanker blows the competition out of the water. We got a lot of truck for the money. We did a lot of research on other companies (Pierce, E-One, etc.) and they did not come close to the truck we received for the price we paid. If you want an outstanding tanker this is the company that needs to build it. This is the only company that Rock Springs Fire Department will recommend in the country to build you a tanker. Midwest Fire went above and beyond to make the experience a great one. Midwest Fire we thank you!!!

This is the second tanker we have purchased from Midwest. On this latest tanker I worked with Jeff of Midwest directly. He was extremly easy to work with and could not be more willing to help. During one of our first meetings in the evening I called him a couple of times because of needing some answers and he was most willing to help us even after work hours. We have received our new tanker and we could not be more pleased with it. We would recommend Midwest Fire to anyone needing a fire truck and with excellent workmanship.

I came to this website by accident. I was looking for scale models of fire trucks and these are just a little out of my price range, besides they won't fit on my shelf lol.
but this is a great web site and after exploring and reading comments, it is nice to see a company that still employees Americans and still has great customer reviews. i would love to purchase one of your trucks if you could get it down to say 1/32 scale. thanks for letting me visit.

When I began looking into a new build of a tanker/pumper I had no idea of the hows/whens to start. A simple call started a lasting friendship and professional relationship that will last many years. Jeff Bowen took my wants and helped me through the entire process. Not once was I pressured into something I didn't want or need. He took my ideas and put it to paper. The bid came in very reasonable and prompt. The craftmanship that the shop put into the vehicle far exceeded any expectations that I had. Once I arrived at the airport, I was personally greeted by Jeff and shown the town, the factory, and current builds. The town was quaint and friendly, and overall a pleasure to visit. The crew took me over every operating procedure of the vehicle until I felt very comfortable with it. Taking possession of the vehicle was as comfortable as starting the build specs. Everything was laid out, no hidden cost, and as simple as that, the vehicle was sold. The ladies that are the initail voice and introduction of the company are as sweet and prompt from the 1st call to the last goodbye as I left the building. I can thank you enough for a wonderful visit and job your team did for us and SE Oklahoma. I look forward to the next project and build, as I did with the first one. Feel free to contact me with any questions about business with Midwest. This is a professional company, professinal vehicle, and a family atmosphere.

When our department was looking to purchase a new Tanker we wanted to choose the right manufacturer to build a functional, competitively priced apparatus that would serve our fire department for years to come. We landed on Midwest after much research and study. Jeff Bowen was assigned as our sales person and from the first conversation with Jeff it was obvious that we had chosen the right company to build our tanker. We took delivery of our new Midwest Fire PT2 – 2011 Freightliner – 2000 gallon wet side – 750 gpm Tanker on April 4, 2011. Jeff had sent me over a hundred photos of the tanker in production and when I actually saw the truck I was totally impressed. The quality and detail of the tanker was much more than the photos had shown.
Everything from the bid, spec’s, progress reports and final delivery was handled professionally and on time. I would recommend Midwest Fire to anyone in need of purchasing a tanker. Thanks to Midwest and Jeff Bowen for a great addition to our fire fighting fleet.

We received our new pumper tanker the other day and even though we felt the truck would be nice on paper we were totally impressed with the quality of construction and attention to detail.
The whole purchase process from beginning to end was handled very professionally and every question on our end was handled in a very timely manner. Every member of the Department has examined the truck closely and thinks that this truck was the best purchase that we ever made. We have had our PTX 3000 Tanker-Pumper for 7 months now. It was called on a mutual aid wildland fire that threatened homes in Park City, Utah and it worked brilliantly. We have received numerous compliments from people in our own communities to nearby fire districts who have witnessed it in action. They all have been very impressed with its capabilities and how it looks.
Our entire experience with Midwest Fire was exceptional. Rick is a true professional with a wealth of knowledge who knows how to treat Midwest clients with the utmost respect. I would highly recommend Midwest Fire because of the professionalism they exemplify and the quality apparatus they produce.

I would like to say thanks to Rick and Tim. Rick was there to answer all of our questions and Tim did great explaining the pump operations. We landed at Souix Falls airport between 7 and 8 o'clock on a Sunday and Rick picked us up and took us straight to the plant and we did the paper work so that we could leave that night due to a snow storm, and we was gone from the plant before 10. I was VERY IMPRESSED.... And not to mention the truck is GREAT. I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH RICK AND TIM. I would recommend Midwest Fire everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Our department is very pleased with the apparatus that Rick and the gang at Midwest Fire built for us. It is a high quailty unit that meets our needs and then some. After touring the factory, I was impressed by the pride and workmanship that every employee puts into their product. The apparatus specific training I received at the factory was very professional. They want to ensure you are totally familiar with the function of everything so you can train your members when you get it to your deparmtent.
After sale follow up was also impressive. Rick makes sure that we're happy with the apparatus and asked if we had any suggestions to improve their product. That tells me they want the next customer to be even more impressed and satisfied with their product. I look forward to being able to work with them again on our next apparatus.
